TEHRAN Chairman of Greater Romania Party (GRP) Corneliu Vadim Tudor said in Tehran on Monday that Romania is willing to boost the volume of trade exchanges with Iran to one billion dollars. In a meeting with Secretary General of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines, Rahim Gavahi, Senator Vadim Tudor said his party (GRP) is interested in developing relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Tudor said Iran enjoys considerable economic capabilities and the two countries should develop economic cooperation.
He hoped that his party would take part in the next cabinet of Romania and said the government and nation of Romania would not heed to the U.S. pressure targeting Iranian trade relations with other countries and go ahead with promoting multi-faceted economic cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Romanian nation regards Iran as a great country with ancient civilization and nation with high talent, the Romanian senator said.
Gavahi said the two countries would provide one another with large numbers of goods and commodities. He said import from Romania depends on Romanian import of Iranian non-oil goods. Gavahi said the private sectors of the two countries are required to form close relationship to develop trade. He said the visit to Iran of the European delegations and businessmen from other countries indicated Iran's success in carrying out joint economic projects and economic cooperation.
He hoped that Vadim Tudor's visit to Iran would serve to further develop Tehran-Bucharest commercial relations. (IRNA)
